Great rope, but the hook hardware is really heavy. It's probably 3 times as heavy as normal leash hardware. My dog kept biting at it and scratching at it. This is just while we tried it out in the living room- it seems like it would only get heavier after she's running around with it at the beach. It pulled her whole harness down out of place with the weight. I'd swap it out for a different piece of hardware from lowes or something, but there is no way to remove it and put a new one on without cutting the rope. I'm not sure how useful this leash will be for us.
