We also have two English setters and they are both very birdie. Our Female setter was pointing birds at three weeks of age, that was how her breeder started his dogs. As far as personality, our Brittany is 7 years old and still acts like a puppy, but she is very loving and very loyal. Our setters are personality plus!!! They love hunting and cant wait to go again, but at the end of the day they just want to chill out he couch and get belly rubs!!! If you are looking for a bird dog, you need to decide if you want a pointing dog or a flushing dog, setters point but do not flush very well, our Brittany does both but is iffy on retrieving, the setters bring it back no problem.
